Watch: Deion Sanders apologizes that Jackson State fans can't buy tickets to Alabama State game (Jackson State)

Next Sunday's home game with Prairie View A&M has already been postponed, and so the next time the Jackson State faithful will get a chance to see their 3-0 Tigers will be the April 3 home game with Southern.

That's because, unless Tiger fans would like to become Alabama State season ticket holders, they will not have the opportunity to watch this Saturday's game at ASU.

For what it's worth, Alabama State announced ahead of this spring season it will not sell single game tickets for any contest -- not just against Jackson State. This is not a conspiracy against Deion and his Tigers, not that that's going to stop him from treating it like one.

"On behalf of all of our alumni, our supporters, our parents, anybody who wanted to attend the game, there are no tickets available. I'd like to formally apologize to everyone and anybody who made plans upon coming to our wonderful game, I apologize."

This Saturday's game is an important one for both sides. Jackson State is back in the STATS FCS Top 25 for the first time in a decade, ranked No. 24, and looking to keep pace with Alabama A&M for first place in the SWAC East. Alabama State has only played once this season, a 24-21 loss to Southern back on Feb. 26. (The Hornets were a 2-0 forfeit winner over Alcorn State, who announced Feb. 9 they will not play this spring.)

"Everybody wants to beat him," Alabama State defensive lineman Christian Clark told the Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser. "Everyone is going to keep talking about it. We have to try and pay no mind. We're going out there to play Jackson. ... We're taking it one game at a time and (Jackson State) is on the list."

For the hordes of disappointed Jackson State fans who will not make the 4-hour drive from Jackson to Montgomery, fret not. Saturday's game is set for a 3 p.m. CT kickoff on ESPN2.
