After FootballScoop reported earlier today that Taylor Housewright is leaving Montana State to coordinate the offense at Akron, sources tell FootballScoop that Bobcats head coach Brent Vigen is moving quickly to identify his next coordinator.
Tight ends/fullbacks coach Tyler Walker will take over the Bobcats' offense, sources say.
In his second season on staff, Walker helped fullback Derryk Snell and tight end Treyton Pickering both earn First Team All-Big Sky honors this fall.
The appointment will be Walker's second coordinator job. He was the defensive coordinator at Division III Muskingum University in 2020. Walker came aboard the Montana State staff in 2021 as director of recruiting, then moved to tight ends/fullbacks coach in 2022. That season saw the Bobcats win the Big Sky title and reach the FCS semifinals.
The Ohio native entered coaching at a Buckeye State high school in 2010 and entered college coaching as a GA at Miami (Ohio) in 2014.
