Shane Beamer is 17-15 in two and a half seasons and 2-4 this season. His tenure has seen higher highs than any point in Will Muschamp's five seasons in Columbia, knocking off No. 5 Tennessee and No. 8 Clemson in consecutive games last November.
But outside of those games, he's 15-15 and 7-12 in SEC play.
Frustration is in the air in Columbia, and Beamer has the X-ray to prove it.
Beamer revealed Tuesday he broke his foot kicking an undisclosed object following the Gamecocks' 41-39 home loss to Florida on Saturday.

Shane Beamer. Broke his foot on Saturday. He kicked something after the game.
Thought he was OK.
Before anybody says, 'The HC gets frustrated, can't control his emotions,' No.
"I care."
"I care about these kids," Beamer said, via On3. "I was frustrated I didn't do enough to get us over the hump."
South Carolina led 37-27 with less than two minutes to play before its defense surrendered consecutive 75-yard touchdown drives, sandwiched around a Gamecock 4-and-out. Florida took a safety to end the game, providing the final score.
The path gets no easier in the immediate term for South Carolina. The Gamecocks visit No. 20 Missouri on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network) before a trip to Texas A&M on Oct. 28. Carolina is 0-4 at Kyle Field all-time.
"We've got a good football team and it's time for us to show it," Beamer said.
