After a playing career at Appalachian State and then joining the coaching staff of former Mountaineers coach Scott Satterfield at Louisville, Zeb Speir now is taking another step in his coaching journey.
Speir is joining the Football Championship Subdivision staff of Chattanooga as the Mocs' tight ends coach.
He had spent the previous four seasons as an offensive quality control coach for Satterfield at Louisville, and was positioned to be in a similar role for Satterfield's new program, the Cincinnati Bearcats.
A Sylva, N.C., native who was a reserve quarterback for AppState in his playing days, Zeb Speir also is the son of former Western Carolina head coach Mark Speier.
