Curry College running back Montie Quinn made college football history on Saturday by rushing for an NCAA single-game record 522 yards. Quinn set the record on only 20 carries, seven of which found the end zone.
"What Montie did today was nothing short of amazing. Breaking the NCAA rushing record is a monumental achievement," Curry head coach Todd Parsons said. "I think he'd be the first to tell you, records like this don't happen alone. Our Offensive Line played lights out, our receivers blocked downfield, and our quarterback made great decisions."
Quinn seven touchdown rushes alone totaled 397 yards -- two of them came from beyond 80 yards out, another from 76, as well as scores from 64 and 58. Unsurprisingly, Curry won the game, defeating Nichols College, 71-27.
Nichols successfully bottled Quinn up on nine of his 20 carries, limiting him to 26 yards on those attempts. The other 11 went for 496.

"I'm just humbled and grateful. Breaking the record is something I never imagined coming into today," Quinn said. "The O-Line was dominating all game; receivers were blocking like crazy and coaches put us in position to make plays. This belongs to all of us; I just happened to be the one carrying the ball."

A Goose Creek, S.C., native, Quinn is a senior who's led the Colonels in rushing all four seasons on campus. He set the school's single-season record with 1,618 yards as a sophomore in 2023, then broke his own record with 1,652 yards as a junior last season. Through six games this season, he's rushed for 1,450 yards. A reigning AP All-American, Quinn also broke his own single-game school record of 381 yards -- also set against Nichols last season.
