North Carolina Central: North Carolina Central University’s Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting volunteer (UNPAID) strength and conditioning coaches to work with Football and Olympic Sports. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach; Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid. Pursuing CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification(s). Must be willing to work entire fall semester (AUG 17 - DEC 09). REWARDS: Those seeking to become SCCC certified will receive mentoring from a certified Master Strength and Conditioning Coach. You will learn various training methodologies, in-depth Olympic lifting modalities, and programming. McKendree University: McKendree University is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a full-time head coach for the Power Lifting Program and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at its Lebanon, IL campus. The successful candidate will minimally possess a bachelor’s degree while also holding the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. It is preferred the candidate have significant experience with the sport of Powerlifting and experience with the United States Powerlifting Federation (USPF), Southern Powerlifting Federation (SPF), United States of America Powerlifting (USAPL), or International Powerlifting Federation (IPF). The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting student athletes to participate in the Powerlifting program, managing the operational budget of the program, assuming responsibility of overseeing the development of the in-season schedule and out-of-season practices and workout arrangements, and maintaining compliance with all guidelines and regulations. The successful candidate will also be assisting with the Athletic Strength and Conditioning Department in delivering services to the other 26 athletic teams as well as fulfilling other University objectives in the area of health and wellness. LSU: Louisiana State University is accepting applications for a Fall 2015 semester internship position that would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department as well as other sports. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the LSU Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation of the off- season program and all other departmental functions. This internship program contains an academic portion, which entails multiple readings and assignments, as well as a hands on practical portion. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body, previous coaching in a collegiate setting, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. UNLV: The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Strength and Conditioning department are now accepting volunteer internship applications for Fall 2016. Applicants should be highly motivated and possess a strong desire to pursue a career in college strength and conditioning. Volunteers will work for the Olympic sports department and will have the opportunity to work a wide range of athletes and sports. All internships are unpaid and are open to all graduate and undergraduate students in their junior or senior year. Interns will gain valuable hands on experience in the coordination of intercollegiate sports, strength and conditioning program design, learning and coaching proper exercise techniques, and learn to establish themselves as a coach among the athletes and will conduct him or herself accordingly. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist full time staff with all daily maintenance and operational duties, involvement in volunteer/intern professional development program, as well as other duties assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Candidates must be willing to learn, adhere to all UNLV, Mountain West Conference and NCAA regulations. This position requires a minimum of 30 hours per week. Candidates must be CPR/AED certified. Moravian College: Moravian College's Strength and Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer interns for the Fall 2015 semester. Daily responsibilities include: assisting with the set up and break down of weight room and fields for conditioning workouts; daily clean up and maintenance of the weight room and all of its equipment; assist with supervision and demonstration during the training sessions. This is an unpaid position, however, volunteers will receive experience working at a Division III program, better understanding of program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicants should be working towards earning their Bachelor’s degree and a certification from the NSCA- CSCS, CSCCA, or USAW. Coaches must be CPR/AED certified. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, able to follow directions, desire to learn, and have a strong work ethic. LSU: The Department of Strength and Conditioning for Athletics at Louisiana State University is seeking applicants for VOLUNTEER strength and conditioning interns for the upcoming fall and spring semesters. Interns will assist with the following Olympic sports; Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving and Softball. These are unpaid internships. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Working towards bachelor’s degree or seeking hourly credit for formal internship requirements. Candidates must be able to demonstrate Olympic lifts and other athletically related movements. Candidates must also have a strong desire to obtain strength and conditioning certification from NSCA or CSCCa. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in related field. Knowledge and experience in the implementation of strength and conditioning programming for collegiate level athletes.
