Position Duties and Responsibilities: Under general direction, implements, conducts, and monitors strength and conditioning; assists with rehabilitation of injured athletes; assists in management of strength and conditioning facility. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; previous experience in strength and conditioning preferred or related experience. National Strength and Conditional Association and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association certification preferred. Compensation for this position includes 12 credit hours paid per 12 months, meal plan and on campus housing for fall and spring semesters. Miami (OH): Miami University, in Oxford Ohio, is looking to hire an Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach. This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations. Duties of this position include: • Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams (specifically men’s/women’s basketball) • Assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning with the design and implementation of the football strength and conditioning program • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, MAC, NCHC and University rules and regulations that apply to the areas of strength and conditioning. • Participate in department activities, including service on committees and attendance at all scheduled meetings. • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Minimum qualifications include: • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise science or related field required; Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred • CPR / AED certified • Current certification through one or more of the following organizations: NSCA (CSCS), CSCCa (SCCC), USAW • 2-3 years working in a collegiate strength and conditioning program and significant training and experience with all forms of resistance training and conditioning • Must also be well-versed and experienced in speed improvement/mechanics, flexibility/mobility, energy system specific training, skill-specific training, testing/evaluation protocols, rehabilitation procedures with various injuries, and nutritional education • Basic computer skills required; Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc. Interested applicants should apply online here.
North Broward Prep (High School - FL): The Strength and Conditioning Department at North Broward Preparatory School is accepting VOLUNTEER internship applications for the fall. This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include assisting with the supervision of athletes and training programs, daily facility maintenance and weight room and field set up. Qualified applicants should possess a strong sense of integrity, attention to detail, punctuality and character. In addition to these qualifications, he/she should have an interest in pursuing a career in the strength and conditioning field and be willing to demand deliberate technique and effort from our athletes; coaches will be encouraged to exhibit their own coaching and communication style. Although there is no monetary compensation for this position, this internship program will include a calculated education component as well as an opportunity to design and implement their own program for one or multiple sports.
