Washington State: The Washington State Football Strength & Conditioning program is now accepting applications for 1-2 volunteer interns for the Spring 2019 Semester. These positions are UNPAID. Successful candidates will work directly with football and assist with all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. Position responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: assisting the staff in all aspects of the strength and speed programs, setting up and breaking down of training sessions, assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, assisting with nutrition, as well as other assigned duties. This internship program consists of a rigorous academic curriculum along with a practical component. Minimum requirements: a current CPR/AED certification, a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications, or experience as a collegiate athlete. Official start date will be Mid-January and end in Early-May. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan Sports Performance is seeking highly motivated people to fill the Winter/Spring 2019 internship positions working with all 17 NCAA Division 1 sports teams. This internship will start January 7th, 2019 thru April 6th 2019. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and MUST be CPR and First Aid certified. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the design and implementation of strength programs including set up and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and ongoing professional development through the internship curriculum. Preferred Qualifications: Intense work ethic, and highly motivated. Experience working in a Strength or Sports Performance environment; currently hold or working towards a nationally- accredited strength and conditioning certification (SCCC or CSCS) PLEASE NOTE: These are non-paid volunteer position.
