Campbell: Campbell University’s Strength and Conditioning Department is currently seeking 1-2 qualified intern candidates for the Spring 2018 semester. Internship will begin on January 8, 2018 and conclude on May 2, 2018. This is an unpaid position. No monetary compensation will be provided. Accepted applicants will be eligible to apply completed hours during the internship towards CSCCa practicum requirements and/or undergraduate/graduate internship requirements, in addition to gaining a recommendation for future employment. Intern responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to the following: 1.) Assisting with the supervision of athletes and implementation of training programs for various sports, 2.) Setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, 3.) Assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, 4.) Active participation in projects and assignments throughout the duration of the internship, 5.) Any other duties assigned by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Applicants must be certified or working towards certification with the CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS) and have current CPR/AED certification. Candidates must possess a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Wayne State College: Wayne State College is currently accepting applicants for a PART TIME Strength and Conditioning Coaching Assistant; this may become a GRADUATE ASSISTANT POSITION IN AUGUST 2018. The assistant strength and conditioning coach will be very active on the floor coaching student athletes. Assistant will learn all aspects of collegiate strength and conditioning including program design and implementation, coaching large groups, coaching individuals, coaching presence, administrative tasks, facility set up and design, and networking. The stipend for the position is $2,500 for the spring semester. Summer compensation is available. Once the position becomes a GA position, the compensation will be tuition for 18 hours per academic year plus approximately $6,500 paid over 10 months; there is additional compensation for the summer. This position will be viewed as the lead assistant for the department; depending on the individual, may be responsible for programming 2-4 teams and leading those programs. This is a very hands on position that will give the assistant great on the floor coaching experience. The ideal candidate possess a national certification (CSCS, SCCC, USAW) as well as CPR and First Aid Certification; A desire to gain experience in collegiate strength and conditioning; Bachelor’s degree; previous experience in high school or collegiate strength and conditioning. Housing is not included in this position. Candidates MUST be able to pass a background check and must be accepted into graduate school (if they become a graduate assistant). William Penn (NAIA - IA): William Penn University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance coach. This is a 12 month position starting January 8th with a two year commitment. Full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend are included. Candidates must be admissible to the graduate program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of William Penn University’s collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on his/her background and experience. The position will also assist the Head Athletic Performance coach, help with maintenance of the Randleman Fitness Center, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Performance coach. Proven knowledge and experience with sport specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in exercise science or a health related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association or the SCCC through the CSCCa. Candidates with an athletic background or experience (volunteer/intern) in a collegiate strength and conditioning program is preferred. Qualified applicants email cover letter, resume and references to haugenj@wmpenn.edu.

Gallaudet (D-III - Washington, DC): Under administrative direction of the Gallaudet University Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Gallaudet University is seeking a well-qualified intern for the 2018 Spring semester. Gallaudet University is the premier institute of higher learning for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The successful applicants will gain hands-on experience working with all 14 NCAA Division III varsity sports. JOB REQUIRMENTS: Applicants must have or be working towards the completion of a degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education or another related field. Interns with either collegiate athletic or coaching experience are preferred but not required. A strong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours are a must. In order to apply each candidate must be First Aid and CPR/AED certified and either working towards or already certified strength coach. Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred. If the successful candidate has no prior knowledge, it will be expected that the intern is willing to learn. Interested applicants shall submit a cover letter, resume, and two references.
