North Florida: The University of North Florida Strength and Conditioning Department is in search of qualified candidates for 2-4 volunteer internship positions for the Spring 2018 semester. This is an unpaid position. Successful applicants will gain valuable experience working with Division-I athletes, knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a Division-I strength and conditioning program, and potential class credit. Day to day responsibilities will include setup and breakdown of lifting/conditioning sessions, facility maintenance and upkeep, and other tasks given by the full time staff. Prospective applicants should hold or be working toward a CSCS or SCCC certification, and/or be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Additional qualifications include a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach, punctuality, high energy, and confidence in a group setting. Start date is Friday, January 4th, 2019. USF: University of South Florida Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 3 Strength and Conditioning Intern Coaches for the Spring Semester of 2019. This is an UNPAID position; however, this opportunity offers a valuable professional recommendation for advancement in the field of strength & conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of off- season training for the USF Football team, set-up and breakdown of daily strength and conditioning training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, data collection, as well as participation in an internship curriculum. Interns will also have the opportunity to assist in the design and implementation of various Olympic Sports training programs. USC: The University of Southern California, is currently seeking full time, UNPAID/volunteer, Strength & Conditioning interns for the Spring Semester of 2019. The internship shall commence on January 8, 2019 and conclude on May 3, 2019. Other than Experience, knowledge acquisition, opportunity to learn and possible further recommendations for future Strength & Conditioning positions, NO compensation will be provided, however USC gear will be given to the candidates upon selection. The Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, as well as all the other full-time Coaches and staff with the set up and breakdown of any equipment utilized for the session of the day, assisting in the implementation of weightlifting, Plyometrics, all movement sessions including speed, agility, change of direction, warmups, assisting with the maintenance and all other duties pertained to the weight room. Minimum Qualifications: Punctuality, Strong work ethic, passion for the discipline of strength and conditioning, highly motivated, and preferred candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program or higher with an Exercise Science or Physiology related field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a Strength & Conditioning or Sports Performance environment, hold or working toward nationally accredited Strength and Conditioning certifications (CSCS, CSCCa, USAW, etc.), and knowledge or experience working with Microsoft Excel. Central Connecticut State: Central Connecticut State University is seeking applicants for the position of Sports Performance Intern for the Spring 2018 semester. Responsibilities: Successful candidates will assist in organizing and implementing movement assessments, dynamic warm-ups, speed and agility training, exercise technique progressions, strength training, and performance testing for all student athletes. Interns will also be responsible for weekly assignments and readings, collecting and interpreting testing data, the daily maintenance of equipment and facilities, and the development of instructional videos. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required or working towards the completion of; First Aid and CPR certified, CSCS certified or working towards CSCS or other certification, and Division 1 coaching experience. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Compensation: Successful candidates will receive valuable hands on experience coaching college athletics.
