UNC: Army defensive coordinator, and Broyles Award finalist, Jay Bateman has accepted the defensive coordinator job on Mack Brown’s staff, per multiple reports.

Stephen F. Austin: Source tells FootballScoop the following assistants will come at this time with Colby Carthel from A&M Commerce: Matt Storm (offensive coordinator), Jared May (quarterbacks), Scott Power (defensive coordinator) and Caid Faske (defensive line).

North Carolina: Source tells FootballScoop Mack Brown is hiring former Louisville co-offensive coordinator Lonnie Galloway. Galloway, who is from the state and played at Western Carolina, has extensive coaching history in the state having coached at Elon, App State, Wake Forest, East Carolina.

Missouri: Offensive analyst Garrick McGee is taking over as tight ends coach for the bowl game following the departure of Joe Jon Finley. McGee is the former head coach at UAB, and has also previously called the offenses at Illinois and Louisville.

Texas A&M Commerce (D-II): Sources tell FootballScoop David Bailiff will be the head coach A&M Commerce. Dan Wolken first reported the planned hire.

Northeastern State (D-II - OK): Kilgore (JC - TX) head coach JJ Eckert will be the next head coach at Northeastern State source tells FootballScoop.

Jim Tressel: Jim Tressel's contract as president of Youngstown State has been extended through 2020. Tressel's annual salary is $300,000 at Youngstown State.

Texas State: Jake Spavital is adding former Texas Tech assistant Clay McGuire as his offensive line coach and Oklahoma State quality control Morris Berger will coach tight ends reports Keff Ciardello.

Ohio State: Ryan Day is removing the interim tag, making Brian Hartline the receivers coach for Ohio State the program has announced.

Kansas: New offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey will earn $500,000 in year one, $550,000 in year two and $750,000 in year three in a three year deal with Kansas. Lindsey made $1.1 million last year at Auburn. If he is still at KY on February 15, 2021 he will collect a retention bonus of $100,000. Additionally, KU holds a Year 4 option on him, which if exercised would pay him $750,000 for year four.

Utah State: Following up on Pete Thamel's report from last night that signs point to Utah State hiring Gary Andersen, this morning Steven Godfrey writes that Utah State plans to hire Andersen and an announcement is likely this weekend.

Rhode Island (FCS): The University of Rhode Island is seeking a Director of Football Media and Design. Candidates will also have the opportunity to assist the team in a quality control role. This position will coordinate the video operations of all practices & games. Preferred candidates will have experience with graphic design & Adobe Photoshop. Candidates must have experience with Hudl video service. Candidates will have the opportunity to manage several student-filmers and coordinate with the university’s school of media to develop creative social media projects.
