Central Michigan: Head coach Jim McElwain announced he experienced a seizure on Sunday. While test results came back good, he will remain in the hospital for observation for the next few days and as a result will miss MAC media day on Tuesday. Defensive coordinator Robb Akey will represent the team in Cleveland in his place. Here's hoping for a swift and full recovery for McElwain.
Los Angeles Chargers: Former West Virginia quarterback Pat White has joined the staff as an offensive assistant. He coached quarterbacks at Alabama State (FCS) last season.
Macalester (D-III - MN): Macalester College is looking to hire a part-time running backs coach. This position will pay $3,000-$4,000 from August - November (no benefits, housing, or meals). Bryant (FCS - RI): Bryant University has an immediate opening for a Special Teams Quality Control Coach. This is a volunteer (unpaid) position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: video upload and editing, opponent film breakdown, opponent reports, assisting with recruiting, tracking recruiting activity, and any other responsibilities assigned by the Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. Candidates must have a strong background using Microsoft Office and experience with XOS, Hudl, or DVSport is highly encouraged. Truman State (D-II - MO): Truman State is seeking applicants for a defensive restricted earning position. This position will help with all defensive administrative work, assisting in preparation of game planning material and opponent film breakdown. The position will coach either with defensive backs (DB) or defensive line (DL) which the head coach and defensive coordinator will determine. The position will include a monthly stipend of $1,000 and will be a 10-month contract. There are no other benefits associated with this position (no housing, classes, or meals).
