Pitt: University of Pittsburgh Football Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Summer 2024 Internship, beginning May 13 through July 29 (Possible Extension). This is a volunteer internship and provides no monetary compensation. The position will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Panthers football program. This includes but not limited to: warm-ups, strength and speed/agility training, conditioning, athlete evaluations, sports science data collection, set up & break down of weight room, and maintenance of the facility. Applicants are encouraged but not required to be certified in one of all the following: CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Tennessee Tech: Tennessee Tech University’s Athletic Performance Department is seeking qualified applicants for one Sports Nutrition graduate assistant effective August 2024. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the operation of the fueling station, assist in development of team nutrition education, managing food orders, and making shakes, as well as the upkeep of the Athletic Performance Center. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field; CPR, AED, and First- Aid certifications; and admission into the Master’s program of Community Health and Nutrition. Position includes educational benefits in a master’s degree program along with a 1,000 monthly stipend during the academic year. Yale (FCS): Yale Football Strength and Conditioning is seeking qualified candidates to fill available internship positions for the Summer 2024 semester. This internship includes a classroom lecture component as well as comprehensive hours in the weight room alongside full-time coaches for a hands-on experience at the Division I level. Students will not only gain the knowledge of program design and theory, nutrition, athletic testing, and leadership, but also have the chance to apply what they have learned in a practical setting with Division I athletes. Interns have the opportunity to work with a variety of emerging technologies in the field including Force plates, GPS Tracking, Velocity Based Training, Speed Training Technology, and more. The goal of this internship is to give interns the necessary tools to obtain jobs within the strength and conditioning field. The hours will closely resemble that of a full-time strength and conditioning coach. Experience gained through our program can be used towards academic credits for college. This is an NSCA accredited continuing education site. You will receive 2 continuing education units (CEU’s) upon completion. The ideal prospective candidate would be a current or recently graduated college student. Preference will be given to those who have studied Exercise Science; however, all professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Additional considerations will be given to those who have an athletic or coaching background, as well as those who are eager to gain experience coaching in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. Lindenwood (FCS - St. Louis, MO): The Lindenwood University Athletic Performance Department is currently seeking applications for VOLUNTEER coaches for Summer 2024. The internship will primarily work with the Lindenwood football program with the start date of May 24th, 2024 and will end July 26th, 2024. Applicants will be expected to fulfill 20 hours minimum per week. These positions are UNPAID but offer the opportunity to gain on-the-floor coaching experience, an eight-week curriculum course, and the ability to fulfill course credit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of summer training for the Lindenwood football team, set-up and breakdown of sessions, daily cleaning/organization of the facility, as well as participation in the internship curriculum. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - First Aid/CPR and AED certified, working towards or recently attained Bachelor's, reliable and consistent personal conduct, strong work ethic and a passion to listen, learn, and apply knowledge. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS - Working towards or recently attained CSCS/SCCC/USAW, and previous player or coaching experience at the collegiate level.  These positions offer the opportunity to gain hands-on coaching experience and are designed to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and experience to further your coaching career.
