Lamar (FCS - TX): Lamar University Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Summer 2023 Semester beginning May 26th, 2023 and ending August 4th, 2023. The Lamar University Strength and Conditioning Internship program provides aspiring interns a base to becoming successful in the strength and conditioning field. A successful candidate will receive hands-on experience with Division I collegiate sports teams including but not limited to football and basketball. We are looking for motivated individuals who have a passion for athletics and sports performance. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with team training sessions and testing. Help introduce new student-athletes to weight room policies and procedures. Set-up and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for the upcoming training session. Ensure proper nutrition is given to student-athletes. Assist with the daily upkeep of all strength & conditioning facilities. Student-Athlete filming for social media accounts. Other duties as assigned by the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. Additionally, interns will participate in weekly intern meetings that will help develop core values, programming, exercise technique, and overall coach development. Intern curriculum will conclude with presenting a self-made strength and conditioning program for an assigned team. Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination. COMPENSATION: This is an UNPAID position, however interns can receive class credits and hours towards certification under an approved CSCCa Mentor. QUALIFICATIONS: Seeking Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or related field; or Master’s degree. Knowledge of strength training, speed, agility, flexibility, nutrition and cardiovascular conditioning preferred. Experience as a student-athlete is preferred. Demonstrate strong communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to motivate a variety of student-athletes on a daily basis. Demonstrate initiative and leadership qualities on a daily basis. Kennesaw State (FCS - GA): Kennesaw State University Football Sports Performance is seeking motivated candidates for our Summer 2023 internship program. This is an UNPAID position that provides Division I experience and the opportunity for future references and opportunities in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Candidates must have a strong desire to become a Strength and Conditioning professional and be working towards a degree in exercise science or a similar field. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, as well as pursuing CSCS certification. Lee (Cleveand, TN): Lee University Sports Performance is seeking 1-2 volunteer coaches for the 2023-24 school year. Certified coaches will program and coach a few assigned teams and can assist other groups; projected start date August 2023. Candidates are eligible to sit for the CSCCa exam after completing the practicum under our CSCCa Certified Mentor. This position is unpaid, but is a good entry-level opportunity in a strong D-II athletic program. The Lee Flames have swept the Gulf South Conference Overall, Men’s, and Women’s All Sports Trophies during both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years, with an 11th place D-II Director’s Cup finish in 2021-22. Cleveland is conveniently located just outside the Chattanooga area with plenty of outdoor recreation; Atlanta, Nashville, and Birmingham, AL, are all within 2.5 hours. Candidates will be exposed to programming software and velocity-based training. Lunch and some gear will be provided, and CSCCa conference and exam would be paid for. East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University is seeking hardworking and enthusiastic candidates to fill available UNPAID internship positions for the Summer 2023 (May 29th-Aug. 1st). The successful candidates will receive hands-on coaching experience with competitive, championship caliber D-1 student athletes, assist with program design and testing protocols, sports-nutrition responsibilities, data collection and application, recovery methods and implementation, return to play protocols, and possibly internship academic credits (where applicable). Minimum qualifications: Currently enrolled in a sport-related field of study (Ex. Phys/Kines/Ex. Science/PE/Health), CPR/AED Certification, a strong work ethic, punctual, enthusiastic, and an effective communicator. Tulsa: The Tulsa Athletic Performance Department is now accepting applications for the 2023 VOLUNTEER Summer Internship. THIS IS AN UNPAID POSITION, however, the position offers an opportunity to work with some of the best coaches, while gaining valuable Division 1 experience, mentorship and opportunity for future advancement in the field, while working with Football and Olympic Sports. Daily duties will include but are not limited to: Assist in the implementation and execution of the Summer Strength and Conditioning Program; Daily maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the Athletic Performance facility; Daily set-up and breakdown of the training sessions; Participation in educational talks, assignments, and curriculum administered by the performance staff. Preferred Qualifications include CPR/AED certification, working towards a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Candidates are expected to be punctual, hardworking, and driven while here. The report date will be mid May 2023 through late August (with a chance to stay on in the fall pending summer performance). Tiffin (D-II - OH): Tiffin University Football  is currently seeking volunteers for an UNPAID internship that would begin in May 2023. Interns will be heavily involved in daily operations, training sessions, and will also partake in an educational curriculum. This opportunity is designed to equip interns with the knowledge and experience necessary to succeed in the field of strength and conditioning. Interns will have the opportunity to earn lots of coaching experience as well as earn recommendations for future career opportunities. The only requirement for application is a strong work ethic and desire to succeed as a strength and conditioning coach. Lindenwood (D-II - MO): The Lindenwood University Athletic Performance Department is currently seeking applications for VOLUNTEER coaches for Summer 2023. The internship will primarily work with the Lindenwood football program with the start date of May 26th, 2023 and will end July 28th, 2023. Applicants will be expected to fulfill 20 hours minimum per week. These positions are UNPAID but offer the opportunity to gain on-the-floor coaching experience, an eight-week curriculum course, and the ability to fulfill course credit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of summer training for the Lindenwood football team, set-up and breakdown of sessions, daily cleaning/organization of the facility, as well as participation in the internship curriculum. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - First Aid/CPR and AED certified, working towards or recently attained Bachelor's, reliable and consistent personal conduct, strong work ethic and a passion to listen, learn, and apply knowledge. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS - Working towards or recently attained CSCS/SCCC/USAW, and previous player or coaching experience at the collegiate level. These positions offer the opportunity to gain hands-on coaching experience and are designed to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and experience to further your coaching career.
