Utah: The University of Utah Olympic Sports Performance department is accepting applications for our Summer internship program. Program start date based on availability. This is an unpaid position. Intern responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and implementation of training programs; assisting with and implementation of athlete assessment; assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include foundational understanding of strength and conditioning principles, knowledge of proper exercise techniques, experience with proper spotting technique, punctuality, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, and the ability to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification; CPR certification and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Interns will receive experience working in a Division I environment and have the potential to earn recommendations for future career employment. Wagner: Wagner College (FCS) has ONE opening for a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach starting Summer 2021. The GA will be responsible for the design and implementation of Sports Performance programs for 3-4 assigned sports as well as all other duties assigned by the Asst. AD for Sports Performance. Applicants must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified, and must be certified through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength and Conditional Association (CSCS). Previous experience in collegiate strength & conditioning experience is required. Previous experience with Baseball and Football is highly preferred. Compensation: FULL TUITION, HOUSING, MEAL PLAN. Lindenwood (St. Charles, MO): The Lindenwood University Athletic Performance Department is currently seeking applications for VOLUNTEER coaches for Summer 2021. The internship will primarily work with the Lindenwood football program with the start date being May 26th, 2021 and will end July 30th, 2021. Applicants will be expected to fulfill 20 hours minimum per week. These positions are UNPAID, but offer the opportunity to gain on-the-floor coaching experience, an eight week curriculum course, and the ability to fulfill course credit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of summer training for the Lindenwood football team, set-up and breakdown of sessions, daily cleaning/organization of the facility, as well as participation in the internship curriculum. Minimum requirements: First Aid/CPR and AED certified, working towards or recently attained Bachelor's, reliable and consistent personal conduct, strong work ethic and a passion to listen, learn, and apply knowledge. Preferred requirements: Working towards or recently attained CSCS/SCCC/USAW, and previous player or coaching experience at the collegiate level. FAU: Florida Atlantic University Football is actively seeking to fill a select few internship positions for the Summer 2021. Prerequisites for this position include a strong work ethic, dedicated and diligent about his/her work, an interest in becoming a sports dietitian/nutritionist, students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level classes involving Exercise Science or Nutrition. Opportunities include but are not limited to working in a college football atmosphere, providing nutritional supplements to athletes, working beside certified nutritionists and strength coaches and possible future job recommendations. Responsibilities include organization of food supplies, maintenance of food inventory, cleaning and cleanliness of nutrition/hydration stations, nutritional interventions specific to athletes’ positions, body types and caloric needs. Internship positions would be required to always be on time, carry out team and staff standards and uphold the highest levels of professionalism. Louisiana Monroe: The University of Louisiana Monroe is currently accepting applications for a restricted earnings/graduate assistant position. Qualified candidates would be in charge of both Men’s & Women’s Basketball and assist with Football Strength and Conditioning. UMass Lowell: The University of Massachusetts Lowell is currently accepting applications for their Fall 2021 Volunteer Sports Performance Internship positions (August-December). Interns will have the opportunity to learn from our Sports Performance team and aid in the development of the University’s Division 1 Athletic Programs. Responsibilities: Assist the Sports Performance staff with the day-to-day operations of the weight room, aid in the supervision and execution of the training programs for all of the university’s athletic programs. Qualifications: Applicants should be working towards or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and must be looking to pursuing or hold a SCCC, CSCS or USA Weight Lifting Certification. Please be aware that this is a Voluntary Internship (No Monetary Compensation will be provided for this position).
