Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Carter, who served as San Jose State's interim coach after Brent Brennan was hired away by Arizona, is reuniting with Brennan at Arizona.
Carter had filled a variety of key roles under Brennan at San Jose State; he served as the program's assistant head coach, recruiting coordinator and coached running backs.
He's expected to be one of the Wildcats's on-field offensive assistants as they transition into a new era under Brennan, hired last week to replace Jedd Fisch after Fisch landed atop the Washington program.
Carter had been a successful California prep coach, transitioned to the junior college ranks and then logged seven consecutive seasons on staff at San Jose State.
