Coaching in the midwest, I've heard tales and seen impressive stadiums built for high schools in the south that are home to 5,000 to north of 8,000 kids.
So when pictures started to surface of the new stadium at Melissa HS (TX), I was blown away.
Melissa is a modest-sized high school of about 1,300 kids, and is putting the finishing touches on a stadium that would make some Group of Five programs envious.
The price tag for the 10,000 seat stadium that looks to include amenities like a luxury box in the rapidly growing area of The Lone Star State?
A cool $35 million.
The Cardinals lost their first two games of the 2022 season before rattling off 11 straight wins, including a 7-0 mark in district play.
On Monday, Texas Football Life is rolling out a video tour of the facilities, so stay tuned and we will be sure to update this article with that.
