Mike Norvell will not take the Alabama job and remain at Florida State.
AD Michael Alford indicated as much with a "white smoke" tweet early Friday afternoon, and then Norvell himself confirmed it shortly thereafter.
"GREAT DAY to be a FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLE!!," Norvell wrote. "The future is bright in Tallahassee."

Similar to the dynamic at Texas, Norvell was already due for a raise following a breakthrough season that saw the Seminoles post an undefeated regular season and win the ACC championship.
The difference between Steve Sarkisian and Norvell was that the latter was an actual candidate in the search to replace Nick Saban.
As first reported by our John Brice, Norvell, Washington's Kalen DeBoer and Tide offensive coordinator Tommy Rees were "serious contenders" for the job.
Norvell will remain in Tallahassee on an 8-year contract worth upwards of $10 million per year, per multiple reports.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
