Matt Campbell inks contract extension at Iowa State (Iowa State)

Matt Campbell led Iowa State to the program's first-ever 10-win season this fall.

That succces has led to a new eight-year contract aimed at keeping him in Ames through December 2032.

The school announced the extension today, as Campbell has led the program to new heights that include seven bowl appearances in the past nine seasons.

This fall, the Cyclones got out of the blocks fast to the tune of a 7-0 start, including their first ever 4-0 start in Big 12 play.

Following their win over Houston, which marked Campbell's 57th win, he became the winningest coach in program history, passing Dan McCarney.

With the trajectory of the program on a steep incline, despite their loss in the Big 12 title game to Arizona State, Campbell enters their bowl game with a 63-51 record in Ames, and is 98-66 overall as a head coach when you factor in his time at Toledo.

He will lead Iowa State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando, where they will face Miami on December 28th.

Financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed.

When they are shared, we'll have the latest on The Scoop.
