"Culture can mean different things to different people, but if it's not every day, it's not real" (Porter Moser)

During the 2017-18 season, Porter Moser led the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers on an improbable run to the Final Four that propelled them into the national spotlight. This past season, they made it to the Sweet 16 after beating ACC Tournament champion Georgia Tech, then top seeded Illinois and another Cinderella team in Oregon State to make it there.

You don't make a runs like that in March Madness as a mid-major without having an exceptional culture, and Moser and his crew have managed to do it twice in the span of three tournaments.

With that type of success, Moser had other programs check his interest over the years, but this past off season the opportunity at Oklahoma following the retirement of Lon Kruger was ultimately the one that was the right one to leave for.

At his Sooners press conference, Moser spent some time providing some really good thoughts that coaches will appreciate on culture.

"What culture is, is habits. It's the way that you do things every day. It is your standards. Your standards, your habits...but it has to be everyday."

"So many people can talk about culture, and now I'm going to be part of this montage of all the coaches that say the word 'culture' at their press conferences, and now here I go, we can add me to it again."

See that montage he's referring to below.

"You have to live it every day," Moser goes on to share. "The key to culture is every day. It can mean different things to different people, but it has to be every day, or it's not real." "It's habits. Standards. The way you go about your business every day. That's what it means." Hear Moser's full thoughts on culture from his presser in the clip below.
