Southern Illinois (FCS): Head coach Dale Lennon will take over defensive coordinator duties in 2014, and offensive line coach Bill O'Boyle will take over offensive coordinator duties, replacing Kalen DeBoer, who left for Eastern Michigan. The Salukies have hired Nick Hill as quarterbacks coach, Todd Auer as linebackers coach and David Elson as defensive backs coach. The staff still has one opening, likely for a special teams coordinator.
Washington: Chris Petersen's will earn more than $3.25 million in 2014, up from $2.8 million in 2013. Defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski will earn $485,000, followed by offensive coordinator Jonathan Smith, offensive line coach Chris Stausser and linebackers coach Bob Gregory ($425,000), defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake ($375,000), wide receivers coach Brent Pease and defensive line coach/special teams coordinator Jeff Choate ($345,000) and running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Keith Bhonapha ($250,000). Each coach is scheduled to receive a $15,000 raise in year two of their two-year deals.
