Stephen Bailey of Syracuse.com got his hands on the letter that Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer wrote to his team before leading the team for one final time against Boston College, and it's a good read.
As Bailey points out, every Friday night during the season the team met at 8pm one final time for fifteen minutes or so just to grab some snacks and tie up some loose ends before heading to bed. Shafer was too emotional to be at that final meeting, so he handed a stack of papers to a team captain and told the seniors to run the meeting.
In those stack of papers was this two-page letter for every guy in the room.

Less than 24 hours after that meeting, Syracuse kicked a game winning field goal as time expired to beat Boston College to cap off a very emotional weekend. It was a fitting end to Shafer's time leading the program, as players were seen afterwards carrying him off the field.
