LSU: Dave Aranda's new deal will pay him between $1.8 and $1.9 million annually, the richest deal for an assistant coach in college football, according to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports.

Cincinnati: In addition to P.J. Fleck and Neal Brown, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati will target Jeff Brohm and Charlie Strong to replace Tommy Tuberville.

Georgia State: ESPN's Adam Rittenberg reported this afternoon that Arizona State OC Chip Lindsey has spoken with Georgia State AD Charlie Cobb about their open head coaching position. We can confirm there have been discussions; but Cobb has discussed the position with a good number of folks as well. The process is ongoing with additional interviews planned. When we hear things are getting close will update further.

LSU: Ed Orgeron stated today that he doesn't anticipate filling his open staff positions before the Tigers play in their bowl game.

Tennessee State (FCS): Head coach Ron Reed told The Tennessean that he will retain just one defensive assistant after a 7-4 season. Defensive coordinator Osita Alaribe, defensive backs coach Ed Sanders, and corners coach Mikhal Kornegay will not be retained, while defensive ends coach Nick Davison will return next season.

Georgia Southern: Co-offensive coordinators David Dean and Rance Gillespie will not return, Tyson Summers announced Sunday. Dean coached wide receivers while Gillespie handled quarterbacks.

Jeff Brohm: The Western Kentucky head coach has spoken with Baylor about the Bears' opening, been offered the Purdue job and could be offered the Cincinnati job later today, according to a report from Chad Bishop of WBKO-TV.

Texas: Houston recruiting assistant Bryan Carrington is joining Tom Herman at Texas as assistant director of player personnel.

Washington: Chris Petersen said Sunday his pending extension won't be for 10 years but he wants to remain in Seattle for a long time. With his Huskies headed to the College Football Playoff, Petersen said the extension isn't a priority right now.

LA Rams: Head coach Jeff Fisher has signed a contract extension taking him through 2018, according to Ian Rapoport. Rap adds that "the long-discussed deal is believed to be for 2 years." Fisher is 4-7 this season.
