Shippensburg: Shippensburg University is currently seeking qualified volunteer internship candidates for the spring 2018 semester. The spring strength and conditioning program will run from January 15 (Start date flexible) to May 4. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for 20 DII varsity athletic teams including football and basketball, on floor coaching of student athletes, teaching student athletes safe and proper exercise technique, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and professional development throughout the semester. This is an unpaid position however, the volunteer interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities and/or receive college credit if applicable. Chosen candidates will have the opportunity to complete the required 640 internship hours for the CSCCa – SCCC under the mentorship of Robert Day. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, Effective communication skills, Desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, First Aid, CPR & AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field, Previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional or high school setting or competitive collegiate involvement, Pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: SCCC, CSCS, USAW, FMS, etc. It is strongly advised that all potential candidates make sure that this internship is economically feasible before applying. Yale: The Yale Football Sports Performance Staff is seeking qualified and hardworking individuals with a strong passion for College Football and Sport Performance, to fill Spring 2018 internship positions with the Yale Football Team and in the Varsity Weight-Room. These positions are unpaid, but provide valuable experience, and will begin around the second week of January 2018. Preferred candidates should be working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in or related to the field of Exercise Science. An CSCCa- SCCC, NSCA-CSCS, or USAW Certification is preferred but not required.
