AAF: With the AAF shutting down, all 8 head strength coaches have been released from their contracts: (Atlanta) Brett Gerch, (Birmingham) Chad Dennis, (Memphis) Joe Hollister, (Orlando) Darren Krein, (Arizona) Bob Rogucki, (Salt Lake) Ian Jones, (San Antonio) Mike Clark, (San Diego) Dana Leduc.

Ohio: Ohio University Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 3 summer interns for the internship program. The summer intern program will run from May 6th to August 16th. This position is UNPAID and is a VOLUNTEER position. Interns will work with football and other Olympic sports. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to; helping with set-up and breakdown of lifts and conditioning, maintenance of facilities, implementation of workouts, help teach and coach proper training techniques to the athletes, and completion of an internship curriculum. Prerequisites include; currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, working towards the CPR/AED certification, working towards the CSCS or CSCCa certification, and the desire to be a strength and conditioning coach. North Dakota State (FCS): Per source, Eric Perkins was hired as an assistant strength coach at NDSU.

Western Michigan: Western Michigan University Football Strength and Conditioning program is now accepting applications for Summer 2019 intern candidates. This is a volunteer unpaid position that will be responsible for assisting the Western Michigan Football Strength and Conditioning staff with the execution of the football summer program. Our intern development program will give you a hands-on experience working with division 1 college football athletes and the tools for future professional opportunities. In addition to this, weekly education sessions with other leaders in the field are provided. Required qualifications include: completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Start date will be as early as May 6, 2019 and as late as May 28. Internship will conclude July 24, 2019 with an opportunity to continue through the Fall pending performance evaluation.
