Sources: Significant changes coming to Vanderbilt staff (Jason Tarver)

Sources tell FootballScoop that significant changes are happening on the Vanderbilt staff.

According to sources, 'Dores defensive coordinator Jason Tarver, who has served as defensive coordinator since 2018, does not plan to return to the staff. Tarver also coached the inside linebackers. Tarver previously coached with the 49ers, Raiders and at Stanford.

In addition, we understand Derek Mason is expected to make some additional changes to his staff as well heading into his seventh season leading the team following a disappointing 3-9 campaign in 2019. Sources tell FootballScoop offensive coordinator Gerry Gdowski is not expected to return either.

We will update when more becomes clear.

We hear a fair amount of rumbling that Louisiana Tech offensive coordinator Todd Fitch could wind up in that role for Mason in the near future; but no confirmation on that just yet.

Stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.

Update> Vanderbilt has now announced that both Tarver and Gdowski will not return.
