Report: Bobby Petrino back in college football (Update: Not happening here.) (Bobby Petrino)

Update> Source with knowledge of the situation tells FootballScoop Bobby Petrino is not expected to join Barry Odom's staff.

Original Post>

Bobby Petrino is back in college football as the quarterbacks coach at Missouri, according to a radio interview conducted by former Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson. Wilson played quarterback for Petrino.

Petrino was fired as Louisville's head coach in November following a 5-season run in his second stint as the Cardinals' head coach.

Derek Dooley currently serves as Missouri's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, so a Petrino hiring would require a shuffling of roles by head coach Barry Odom. St. Louis Post-Dispatch beat writer Dave Matter and Power Mizzou publisher Gabe DeArmond followed that interview with this tweet, saying Petrino has been on campus observing Tigers practices but does not have a formal role at this time.

FootballScoop has inquired to relevant parties about the move and will update when we hear back. As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
