Oregon State addresses recruiting mailings sent to Hawaii players (Oregon State)

The Friday news cycle began with Hawaii head coach Nick Rolovich calling out Oregon State for sending recruiting packages to current Warriors players.

Though it seemed like the type of thing that could have happened through an honest mixup, Rolovich stayed after the issue after his initial tweet calling out the Beavers staff.

On Friday evening, Oregon State at last addressed the matter, releasing the following statement:

“Oregon State Athletics and head coach Jonathan Smith became aware of unintentional mailings directed at a University of Hawai’i student-athlete this morning. We are committed to following NCAA rules and are looking into this matter fully.”

We'll keep you updated if and when Oregon State publishes its findings.

Meanwhile, Oregon State and Hawaii begin a home-and-home in 2019 in Honolulu.
