Ball Today: Two games on today. Eastern Michigan vs. San Jose State (3:30p on ESPN) in the Idaho Potato Bowl, and Liberty vs. Toledo (7:30p EST on ESPN) in the Boca Raton Bowl.

North Texas: Eric Morris is set to retain running backs coach Patrick Cobbs while bringing Sean Brophy, Jordan Davis and Rolando Surita with him from Washington State, according to multiple reports. Brophy, Davis and Surita coached with Morris at Incarnate Word. Brophy is expected to coach quarterbacks, Davis will handle wide receivers, and Surita is expected to be chief of staff.

Marshall: Assistant director of football operations Luke Haker is leaving college athletics to pursue a business operations opportunity in Austin, Texas. The FootballScoop team wishes Luke well.

Kent State: As we reported earlier today, Matt Johnson has now been officially announced as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach.

Louisville: Jeff Brohm announced today he is retaining Mark Ivey and Deion Branch from Scott Satterfield's staff. Ivey will coach likely defensive line or a portion thereof and Branch will serve as director of player development. 

Roster Tampering: Pat Narduzzi, Mack Brown and Jeff Traylor continue to sound off on the issue of roster tampering.

Purdue: The additions of Kevin Kane (DC) and Graham Harrell (OC) are now official.

Western Michigan: Lance Taylor makes impressive hire for General Manager.

Eastern Michigan: Defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Neal Neathery is retiring following their bowl game today against San Jose State. Neal has been with Chris Creighton for four different stops, including at EMU since 2016.

Nebraska: Sources tell FootballScoop Matt Rhule is making a move to add Arlington Martin (Texas) High School head coach Bob Wager to his staff

Dreseden (Germany): The Dresden Monarchs have named veteran NFL offensive line coach Paul Alexander as their new head coach. Paul spent most of his career as the offensive line coach for the Cincinnati Bengals.

SUNY Brockport (D-III - NY): SUNY Brockport located in Brockport, NY is seeking applicants for 2 graduate assistant coaching positions (offense / defense). Each position will include a stipend, and graduate class. This is a non-benefits eligible position with an immediate start date. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all aspects of a highly competitive Division III football program, including but not limited to: coaching your own position group, recruitment of qualified and competitive student-athletes in your assigned area, student-athlete development, ensuring academic success of student-athletes, practice, and game film breakdown (HUDL). Kent State: Sources tell FootballScoop running backs coach Matty Johnson is moving to offensive coordinator / quarterbacks. Adam Rittenberg is also reporting receivers coach Matthew Middleton, defensive line coach Colin Ferrell and corners coach CJ Cox are all being retained as well. 

James Madison: Curt Cignetti has signed a contract extension through the 2028 season. The amended deal adds one year to the three-year extension the school announced back in April and one year will automatically be added to his contract by hitting the 8-win mark. Cignetti is 41-8 through four seasons, including an 8-3 mark in their first season as an FBS member this fall.

Weber State (FCS - UT): Offensive coordinator Mickey Mental is expected to get promoted to head coach, Pete Thamel tweets. Mental previously went 16-2 as the head coach at Notre Dame College (D-II - OH).

Southern Illinois (FCS): Southern Illinois is looking to hire a defensive graduate assistant. Selected candidate would get Masters paid for plus a monthly stipend. Looking for someone with experience, this would be an on the field position. Please email nhill@siu.edu if interested.

Central Washington (D-II): With the departure of Spencer Capitani, sources tell FootballScoop CWU plans to move defensive line coach Grant Torgerson to linebackers coach and special teams coordinator and hire a new defensive line coach.

Sioux Falls (D-II - SD): Per source, Central Washington (D-II) safeties coach / special teams coordinator Spencer Capitani has accepted the defensive coordinator position at USF. 

Nebraska Kearney (D-II): Ryan Held has been named head coach at Kearney. Held, who played and coached at Nebraska, most recently served as offensive coordinator / interim head coach at North Alabama (FCS). 

Illinois: Bret Bielema has entered into a new six year contract. Bielema's annual salary grows to $6 million, with annual raises and the opportunity to earn various bonuses, including a $500,000 annual retention incentive. The contract also provides for up to four one-year extensions if certain performance thresholds are met.

Colorado: Michael Pollock, who served as a special assistant to the head coach at Jackson State, is joining coach Prime's staff in Boulder, as is strength and conditioning coordinator Maurice Sims. Sims served in the same role at Jackson State last year and has prior stops at North Carolina, Army, Indiana, and Tennessee.

Midwestern State (D-II): Midwestern State is currently seeking a Graduate Assistant Football Coach. The position includes a stipend, housing, and tuition assistance for graduate school. Coaching responsibilities to include but not limited to Defensive Backs. Experience playing and coaching Defensive Backs preferred. Responsibilities include all aspects of the football program, including but not limited to, practice organization, contest preparation, recruitment weekends, student athlete development, spring football practice, and other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Towson (FCS - MD): Newly hired head coach Pete Shinnick has started to fill his staff with the hires of Stetson (FCS - FL) offensive coordinator Brian Sheppard (OC / QBs), West Florida (D-II) defensive coordinator Darian Dulin (DC / DBs), West Florida (D-II) defensive line coach Alex Krutsch (STC / DL), and West Florida (D-II) linebackers coach / special teams coordinator Britton Myers (LBs).

Birmingham Southern (D-III - AL): Sources tell FootballScoop that the program moved quickly to elevate Anthony Colucci to head coach.

Albany State (D-II - GA): Quinn Gray Sr., who spent last season at Memphis as a senior offensive analyst, has been announced as the new head coach at Albany State.

Dayton (FCS - OH): In addition to Tee Overman not being back, Josh Hendershot (OC), Braden Layer (QBs), and Jake Vellucci (STC) also will not return to the staff, sources tell FootballScoop. 

Southeastern Oklahoma State (D-II): Southeastern Oklahoma State University is looking to fill an Offensive GA position. The position will be compensated by 15 hours of graduate classes through the academic year and a $7,000 stipend. Interested candidates should email resumes to arainwater@se.edu. Army: Sal Interdonato shares that Army will shift to a co-offensive coordinator system with tight ends coach Matt Drinkall and Nebraska-Kearney (D-II) offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Drew Thatcher.

Auburn: Zac Etheridge, who spent the past two seasons on Bryan Harsin's staff as secondary coach / associate head coach, will remain with Auburn on Hugh Freeze's staff.

Austin (D-III - TX): Sources tell FootballScoop that Austin College is hiring away a fellow Division III head coach.

Jackson State (FCS): The exodus has begun....

John Carroll (D-III - OH): John Carroll tabs a former player, and architect of impressive D-III turnaround as new head coach.

Trinity International (NAIA - IL): TIU has decided to make a head coaching change.
