In a beautiful announcement, Coach Mac's family shared, "Our father surrendered his life to Jesus at 33 years old setting a trajectory for our family and many others. We share his faith in Jesus and truly believe our Dad has been reunited in Heaven with his beloved bride and our Mother, Lynne Marie." Ball today: With the National Championship set for Notre Dame vs Ohio State on January 20th, eyes now turn to the NFL. Today we've got two - Chargers at the Texans (3:30pm ct) and Steelers at Ravens (7pm ct on Prime Video).

Sacramento State: Josh Brown has joined the staff as co-defensive coordinator / linebackers. Brown spent the 2024 season as co-DC at McNeese State.
Wake Forest: Wake is planning to add Chevis Jackson working with the defensive backs and Skylor Magee as defensive line coach CBS sports has reported.
Arizona: Tight ends coach Matt Adkins is not expected to return per ESPN. After a rough start under Dino Babers, Adkins took over play calling much of this season.
Baylor: Western Kentucky defensive line coach Carson Hall is expected to join Baylor's staff as outside linebackers 247 sports has shared.
Texas Tech: Texas State analyst Lindsey Scott is joining the TTU staff assisting with the quarterbacks CBS sports is reporting.
Miami: University of Minnesota defensive coordinator Corey Heatherman has become the target of Miami's search for their next defensive coordinator multiple outlets are now reporting.
Western Colorado (D-II): Northern State (D-II - SD) offensive line coach John Roy is joining the staff as offensive line coach.
Roosevelt (D-II - IL): Defensive coordinator William McKeon has been promoted to head coach.
Valdosta State (D-II - GA): The Blazers will now be guided by former quarterback Graham Craig sources tell FootballScoop.
Atlanta: The Falcons are parting ways with defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake and defensive line coach Jay Rodgers.
Colorado State: Sources tell FootballScoop Jay Norvell intends to add John Jancek to the defensive staff.
Texas College (NAIA): Texas College is looking for a defensive line coach that preferably has a Master's degree but not required. With a Master will make between $40k-$50k. Will have an on campus job. No housing but meal plan is available. And one defensive volunteer. If you have a masters could possibly work into a teaching opportunity on campus. We are coming all a 7-3 season one of the best here since 1958. Defensive line was top 10 in the country in sacks. Would like to interview at the convention. Newberry College (D-II - SC): Sources tell FootballScoop Tusculum receivers coach / pass game coordinator Cole Watson is expected to become offensive coordinator at Newberry College (his alma mater).
Coach Prime: After insisting over the past two years he has no desire to coach in the NFL, Deion Sanders has reportedly expressed strong interest in the Las Vegas Raiders job.
Fresno State: Sources tell FootballScoop Matt Entz is adding Brian Ferentz to his staff at Fresno.

Colorado State: Sources tell FootballScoop Jay Norvell intends to promote tight ends coach James Finley to receivers coach. Finley, who played receiver at Oregon, was a 2023 finalist for tight ends coach of the year.
Las Vegas: The Raiders plan to interview Pete Carroll Monday Ian Rapoport has shared.
North Greenville (D-II - SC): Sources tell FootballScoop NGU plans to make a former NFL player their new head coach.
Chicago Bears: Former Panthers and Commanders head coach Ron Rivera is expected to interview with the Bears this weekend for their head coaching position. Rivera, of course, has a long playing and coaching history with the organization.
South Alabama: Jason Washington is expected to leave Mississippi State to become co-defensive coordinator / corners coach at South Alabama, ESPN has reported.
Indianapolis: The Colts interviewed Cleveland safeties coach Ephraim Banda for their defensive coordinator position Tom Pelissero shared. Banda served as Utah State's defensive coordinator before going to Cleveland.
Matt Eberflus: Jeremy Fowler shared that the former Bears head coach is expected to be involved in several defensive coordinator searches, including the Bengals.
Tulsa: Mike Gray has now officially been named co-defensive coordinator / linebackers.
UMass: San Francisco offensive assistant Jordan Hogan is joining the UMass staff as receivers coach 247 sports has shared.
Idaho: Augustana offensive coordinator Ty Paopao is joining the staff as receivers coach.
UW Platteville (D-III): Special teams coordinator / defensive line coach Pat Sheehan has stepped down and will become head coach at Metea Valley HS (IL).
Arkansas State: Butch Jones is going with one of the youngest coordinators in college football.
San Francisco 49ers: While Kyle Shanahan shared recently that he would elevated Klay Kubiak to offensive coordinator, NFL don't permit that to happen without an open search, so the Niners will have to comply with that rule and do a search, Jonathan Jones points out.
Siena Heights (NAIA - MI): Per source, Jacob Dopsovic has left his post as the offensive line coach at Central State (D-II - OH), and has accepted the offensive coordinator / offensive line job with the Saints.
