Texas Tech offensive coordinator Zach Kittley reportedly top candidate at FAU (Texas Tech)

From the early stages, it seemed FAU was looking for an offensive minded head coach to replace Tom Herman.

According to On3, Texas Tech offensive coordinator Zach Kittley has emerged as the top candidate for the Owls head coaching vacancy.

His Red Raiders offense ranked as the near the top of the Big 12 in a number of categories, including scoring where they averaged nearly 39 points per game.

Kittley worked in a variety of roles for Kliff Kingsbury during his time at Texas Tech and has proven to be an impressive play caller at Houston Baptist and Western Kentucky before landing in Lubbock.

He's tasked with taking over an program at FAU that parted ways with Tom Herman after two seasons and a 6-16 record.
