Sources: Michael Vick adding former NFL player, Super Bowl-winning assistant coach to staff (Tory Woodbury)

Tory Woodbury had stints with the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints and New York Jets as a player, before an enduring coaching career also saw him help the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl crown three years ago.

Now, sources tell FootballScoop, Woodbury will be joining ex-NFL star quarterback Michael Vick's inaugural Norfolk State coaching staff.

Woodbury has agreed to become Vick's special teams coordinator, sources with direct knowledge told FootballScoop.

A record-setting quarterback during his collegiate career at Winston-Salem State, Woodbury has coached five seasons in the NFL -- as the Rams' assistant special teams coordinator -- and nearly a decade at the collegiate level.

Woodbury spent the 2024 season as tight ends coach and special teams coordinator for the Howard Bison; he also has past coaching experience as an offensive coordinator.

Vick, a native of Virginia's Tidewater area, was hired atop the Norfolk State program in late December, his first-ever full-time coaching post.

The Vick era at Norfolk is set officially to begin Thursday, Aug. 28 when the program hosts Towson in its 2025 season opener.
