Sources tell FootballScoop that Cincinnati is elevating Cortney Braswell into a new role as he heads into his third season with the program.
After mentoring the inside linebackers for two seasons, sources share Braswell is set to add the title of co-defensive coordinator with the Bearcats. In that role, he will work in concert with defensive coordinator Tyson Veidt.
The move comes after at least one other program recently put together an enticing package in an attempt to hire Braswell away, sources have shared.
Braswell is a former AFCA 35 Under 35 selection who is considered one of the top recruiters in college football year in and year out.
Prior to joining the Bearcats staff in 2023, Braswell spent two seasons coaching the inside linebackers at Army, which was preceded by a year on staff at Appalachian State where he worked with the outside linebackers.
A former high school head coach in Georgia, Braswell led programsd at Ridgeville HS, and Chattanooga HS, where he led each of those respective teams to the playoffs.
