Ole Miss announced a contract extension for head coach Lane Kiffin on Tuesday.
No details were included in the announcement -- not the financial terms, and not even the additional number of years for which Kiffin is now under contract.
"Our football program is experiencing unprecedented success under Coach Kiffin, and we could not be more excited about what the future holds under his leadership," AD Keith Carter said. "In just four years, he has established our team as a sustained winner that is on a trajectory to championship status. With our continued investment in the program and the tremendous support of the Grove Collective, the Ole Miss family is committed to providing Coach Kiffin the resources needed to compete at an elite level."
State law prevents public institutions in Mississippi from offering contracts longer than four years.
Kiffin's extension last year, the details of which were made public in January, officially ran through Dec. 31, 2026. Sports Illustrated reported last November that Ole Miss structured that extension in such a way that Kiffin was effectively under contract for six years.
Clarifying: the base contract is six years with roll-overs to extend to eight.

Kiffin was paid $8.75 million in 2023, and his current deal called for a raise to $8.85 million for '24.
Ole Miss is 10-2 in Kiffin's fourth season ahead of a date with Penn State in the Peach Bowl and currently has the nation's highest-rated transfer portal class. The Rebels will likely enter 2024 in the AP Top 10.
"We're doing things here that have never been done before, and with the commitment that our leadership and supporters are making, we have the opportunity to build on the foundation that has been established over the last four years," Kiffin said. "I'm grateful to Chancellor Boyce and Keith for their support, and we look forward to continuing on our path to becoming a championship program."
