After a bump in the road this past weekend, the NFL season will begin on time. Or, at least training camps will.
The league reached an agreement with the players' union on Friday, putting both sides on the same page in regards to the calendar, testing protocols and economics for the 2020 season, which will begin in earnest on July 28.
The season will still begin on Sept. 10, with no preseason games.
There is still one hurdle yet to clear -- a full ratification from the union -- but an 11th hour reversal would be stunning given the plan has the unanimous support of the NFLPA executive committee. As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
Update: The deal is done. We will have NFL training camps starting next week.
