Sources: Georgetown College planning a head coaching transition

Chris Oliver is planning to step down as head coach to focus on his role at director of athletics for the College sources share. 

Defensive coordinator John Perin will be promoted to head coach of the Tigers sources added. 

Oliver has served as head coach since December 2021 and added the director of athletics role in April of this year. As the head coach at Lindsey Wilson College, Oliver led his team to the 2020 NAIA National Championship. Oliver led LWC to 105 wins over 12 seasons as their head coach before coming to Georgetown. 

Perin joined the staff before the '22 season after serving as defensive coordinator at Birmingham Southern since 2017. 

Georgetown went 9-3 this season, losing to No. 1 seed Keiser University in the NAIA quarterfinals.
