Chris Kiffin joining Lane Kiffin's staff once again (Chris Kiffin)

Chris Kiffin is joining his older brother Lane's staff as an analyst at Ole Miss, ESPN's Chris Low reported Sunday.

Chris Kiffin spent the past six seasons coaching in the NFL, most recently as the Houston Texans' linebackers coach. He also spent three seasons as the Cleveland Browns' defensive line coach and two as a pass rush specialist for the San Francisco 49ers.

The move is a reunion on two fronts for Chris. This will be his second time working for Lane, and his third* stint at Ole Miss.

The younger Kiffin was a graduate assistant on Ed Orgeron's 2007 Rebels staff, then returned in 2012 as the defensive line coach and defensive recruiting coordinator under Hugh Freeze.

He left in 2017 to become Lane's defensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic. To date, it's Lane's best season in coaching. Having inherited a 3-9 team, the Kiffins immediately flipped the Owls to an 11-3 outfit that cruised to the Conference USA championship. Those Owls ended the season on a 10-game winning streak, with nine of those 10 victories coming by at least 14 points.

* -- Chris also briefly returned in 2022, but opted not to take a full-time role and joined the Texans instead.

The opportunity to coach under the same roof is undoubtedly special for the Kiffins at any opportunity, but doubly so now after Monte Kiffin's passing last month
