The saga surrounding Ohio State, Zach Smith and his wife Courtney, Urban Meyer, and Gene Smith seems to unravel more and more every other day or so.
Earlier today, Ohio State beat writer Jeff Snook shared that he had apparently figured out the tipster that led to the ongoing investigation into the Ohio State program. According to Snook, the man who set this whole thing in motion was former Ohio State offensive coordinator, and current Texas head coach Tom Herman.
According to Snook, the Longhorns losing out on a five-star receiver from Lake Travis HS (Austin, TX), who decided to go to Ohio State instead and committed to the Buckeyes back in April, and according to Snook, Herman was "furious." The primary recruiter for that five-star receiver? Zach Smith.
Let's be honest folks - that sounds pretty damn ridiculous no matter how you slice it.

With that out there making its way around, Herman quickly released a statement calling the claim "absolutely untrue." Herman added that he and his wife, Michelle, did help Courtney financially at one point in time, back in March of 2017 (per

Brett McMurphy, who first broke the story via his Facebook page last week, also extinguished any existing flames that may have been forming on Snook's story.
Urban Meyer remains on leave, and if they stick to their original timeline, the investigation into how the allegations of domestic violence were handled by Ohio State should go on for another week before we have some answers on where the Buckeyes move from here.
