Sweeping changes across Mississippi JuCos (mississippi)

For the most part, the junior college football season has wrapped up around the country.

A few games, some playoffs and makeup contests remain, but the season's last full weekend just concluded.

Which means the junior college coaching carousel already is spinning.

And in Mississippi, one of the most talent-rich, program-heavy scenes in junior college football, mass changes are unfolding.

FootballScoop is told that Steve Buckley is done after nine seasons at Jones College. Buckley exits with more than 60 wins at the school after a 5-4 2024 campaign.

Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame inductee Terrence Metcalf has resigned, FootballScoop has learned, from his post atop the Coahoma Community College program.

A former Ole Miss standout who spent seven seasons in the NFL, Metcalf could not turn around the Coahoma program in two seasons at the helm. The Tigers were winless this season and won just once in the debut season under Metcalf, father of current NFL star wideout DK Metcalf.

At Hinds Community College, Larry Williams is parting ways with the school after being on staff there since 2013 and the program's head coach since 2017.

After a 9-3 2021 campaign, Hinds posted three-straight losing seasons.

These moves are unfolding a week after Cliff Collins exited his post atop the Southwest Mississippi Community College program following four years at the helm.

All four programs compete in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference.
