Tre Lamb is moving closer to filling out his inaugural Tulsa coaching staff.
Lamb, hired atop the program earlier this week after his meteoric rise through the FCS ranks at first Gardner-Webb and then ETSU, is tabbing Kam Martin as Tulsa's new running backs coach.
Martin, a former Auburn running back who's also coached at Texas State and most recently at Central Florida under his former college coach, Gus Malzahn, also will have assistant head coaching duties.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Lamb also is close to hiring an offensive coordinator, with talks ongoing between Lamb and a former Football Bowls Subdivision head coach.
Just 35, Lamb joins FAU's Zach Kittley and Arizona State's Kenny Dillingham as three of the youngest head coaches in college football's top division.
Lamb was hired to replace the fired Kevin Wilson.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Lamb received a five-year deal with approximately $6 million to depart ETSU after one season to take over the Golden Hurricane program.
Tulsa also has worked to revamp its Name, Image and Likeness program, with what sources indicate is a projected pool of money near $3 million for Lamb's NIL efforts and approximately $2.75 million for Lamb's assistant coaches' salary pool.
