Sources: Pat Narduzzi parting ways with a longtime staff member at Pitt

Pat Narduzzi has decided to part ways with a veteran coaching presence on the offensive side of the ball.

Tim Salem, who has coached the team's tight ends for the past nine seasons, will not return to the staff this fall, sources tell FootballScoop.

Salem has more than three decades of coaching experience at the college level, and has served as offensive coordinator at four different schools.

The versatile coaching veteran also has the unique experience of coaching four different positions on the offensive side of the ball as well.

Salem has previous Big Ten experience through the 90s at both Purdue and Ohio State, where he worked with quarterbacks at both places, serving as the offensive coordinator for the Boilermakers from 1994-96. He also spent the 2000 season working with the Buckeye wide receivers.

He would go on to serve as the offensive coordinator at Eastern Michigan for a season before calling plays at UCF for five seasons working with the quarterbacks and then tight ends.

In 2012 he took the special teams coordinator job at Illinois, where he also worked with the running backs before leaving to join Pat Narduzzi's inaugural staff at Pitt in 2015 working with the tight ends.
