Source: Toledo OC Brian Wright leaving for head coaching job (Toledo)

Toledo offensive coordinator Brian Wright will be the next head coach at Pitt State, sources told FootballScoop on Friday.

Pitt State is a Division II school in Pittsburg, Kan. The Gorillas compete in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Conference.

Wright will replace Tim Beck, who did not return after going 82-35 with one national championship and two conference titles over 10 seasons.

Pitt State is a tradition-rich program that owns 31 conference titles and four national crowns, two in NAIA and two in Division II, most recently under Beck in 2011.

Wright has spent the past four years at Toledo, helping the Rockets win the MAC in 2017. That team ranked 16th nationally in scoring at 36.4 points per game, and the 2018 team placed ninth at 40.4 points a game.

Wright previously served as the associate head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Florida Atlantic, and also coached at Montana State, Youngstown State, and Walsh University in Ohio.
