Georgia Tech special teams coordinator Ricky Brumfield has had the opportunity to participate in the NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship program with five different NFL teams, and is now set to reportedly interview for a job with an NFL club.
Matt Zenitz shares that Brumfield, who just wrapped up a solid second season coordinating the Yellow Jackets special teams, is set to interview for the assistant special teams role on Sean McVay's staff with the LA Rams.
Brumfield led a special teams unit that blocked four kicks on the year, which ranked third nationally and also had a freshman kicker named to the All-American team.
A veteran coach with a dozen seasons at the FBS level, Brumfield has participated in the NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship Program with the Steelers (2006), Falcons (2007), Packers (2008), Bills (2010) Tennessee Titans (2021) and also spent a few seasons in Pittsburgh as a volunteer assistant.
Before joining the Georgia Tech staff, he served as special teams coordinator at FIU and was at Virginia for four seasons prior to that.
He's also coordinated special teams at FBS programs UTSA and Western Kentucky.
