Broncos ownership set to make one of largest investments in high school football history (high school football)

Over 15,000 high school players take the field around Colorado to play tackle football, and thanks to a generous gift from owners of the Denver Broncos, it looks like all of them will be outfitted in the latest helmet technology.

The Broncos announced a donation of 15,000 Riddell Axiom helmets to high school programs across Colorado today.

With a sticker price of around $750 for Riddell's latest helmet, not counting a hefty bulk discount that is surely rolled in, that bill would come out to about $11.25 million.

Over the next four years, all Colorado's high school football programs will be provided with the helmets.

The groundbreaking gift is believed to be among the single largest investments in the history of high school tackle football in the United States.

Check out the video promoting the initiative, narrated by none other than Peyton Manning.
