It's been a productive weekend in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The Cajuns went to Boone and beat Appalachian State, 24-21, on Friday night. The win was the program's first in nine tries -- App State beat ULL for the Sun Belt title each of the past two seasons -- and moved the club to 9-1 on the year.
More importantly, they're keeping their coach.
After meeting with South Carolina officials on Saturday morning, as FootballScoop first reported, Napier informed officials at both schools he will pass on the job and remain in Lafayette.
The school made the announcement Saturday night.
The Cajuns will take next week off, preparing for a showdown with Coastal Carolina in the Sun Belt Championship -- complete with the knowledge their head coach is sticking around.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
