It's been a decade since Steve Spurrier has been on the college sidelines, but thank goodness the veteran head coach is still providing great soundbytes for college football fans a few times a year.

While talking to reporters on a Zoom call today ahead of his induction into the South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame, Spurrier was asked about Dabo's tampering claims aimed at Ole Miss, and he shared a reminder he says needs to make its way to Dabo.

To recap a bit, Dabo made waves a few weeks back when he dropped detailed, bombshell tampering accusations aimed at Ole Miss, and specifically Pete Golding and Rebels GM Austin Thomas.

While the presser was initially meant to introduce the return of Chad Morris as offensive coordinator, the conversation shifted to Dabo's receipts of tampering regarding linebacker Luke Ferrelli, who had been enrolled and was taking classes at Clemson when Golding swooped in to pry him away with a giant offer few would be able to walk away from.

“There’s tampering, and then there’s blatant tampering. Tampering 101 is when you’re talking to kids who aren’t in the portal. Tampering 201 is when you’ve already negotiated the deal with the kids not in the portal."

“Tampering 301 is when you’ve got a kid who’s going in the portal to sign somewhere, get them to move there, going to classes and you’re texting them while they’re in class. That’s like a whole other level of tampering.”

Dabo would go on for over 8-minutes with a blow-by-blow account of what took place before Ferrelli re-entered the portal and ended up signing with Ole Miss.

That brings us to Spurrier's comments today when asked about those tampering claims and the direction of college football today.

"I would have thought, by now, someone would have told Dabo that there ain't no rules anymore. There are no rules," the veteran head coach goes on to share while the hosts of the call are laughing.

Spurrier goes on to talk about how basketball has pros coming back to play college ball now and things are such a mess.

"I just don't know if they are ever going to enforce any rules now, or not, but I think Dabo has learned now he's got to start paying his players just like everyone else is, or you are going to get left behind."

"You can complain, but I don't know how much good it is going to do. Someone tell Dabo there aren't any rules now."
