Much of Texas A&M's first-half performance Saturday at home was so disastrous that the third-ranked Aggies trailed a down-on-its luck South Carolina team, 30-3, at halftime.
One of those Gamecocks scores was Nyck Harbor's 80-yard scoring reception from quarterback LaNorris Sellers after A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was picked off in the end zone.
Harbor pulled up and grabbed his right thigh after the score as he coasted up into a tunnel at Kyle Field.
That, apparently, was more than one law enforcement officer could tolerate.
The lawman working security in the north end zone entered the tunnel amidst the Gamecocks' players and proceeded to bump Harbor, then yell at him to get out of the tunnel and motioned all the Gamecocks players back toward the field of play.
The officer's problem? It all was caught on broadcast TV cameras, and the moment turned into a viral clip on social media.
It also turned out to be the end of the day for that officer, according to the Texas A&M Police Department's official X (formerly Twitter) account.
In a statement, the A&M Police said the following:
"We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper. HE has been relieved of his game day assignment."

What A&M's Police Department makes most clear is that it was not one of its officers responsible for the cringeworthy moment. Instead, the statement makes clear to outline that the officer relieved of his gameday duties was a Department of Public Safety employee, most commonly known as a Texas State Trooper.
Perhaps he was a bad-luck omen for the Aggies, who erased that 27-point halftime-deficit to take a 31-30 lead in the fourth quarter.
Texas A&M got one final defensive stop inside the game's final two minutes to keep the Gamecocks scoreless throughout the second half secure the near-miracle comeback-victory to maintain the program's undefeated start.
FootballScoop will update this story if additional information or commentary from either South Carolina coach Shane Beamer or Texas A&M coach Mike Elko is available postgame.
