At 7-2, Clark Lea has his Vanderbilt Commodores flying high, and most importantly believing in themselves.
A hometown boy done good, Lea grew up in Nashville, played high school ball just down the street from Vanderbiltβs West End campus.
Lea played baseball one season at Birmingham Southern before transferring back to Nashville to play ball at Belmont.
He would switch back to playing football and transferred to Vanderbilt, where he played the 2002-04 seasons.
Fast forward 20 years and the hometown kid is doing all the things in leading his alma mater through a historic season. This has all the makings of "We want Coach Lea here as long as he will stay" and "There's no place else I ever want to coach."
But, alas, that's not the situation.
After speaking with a number of coaches, agents and industry sources, we share what is currently going on at Vandy and the outlook for Clark Lea's future.
