Channel your inner Jim Mora. Remember, there's no greater sport than college football.
And embrace ... the College Football Playoffs on the first Saturday night in November inside Tennessee's pristine palace, Neyland Stadium.
There, the two-loss, No. 14-ranked Tennessee Volunteers host the two-loss, 18th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners.
Loser goes home. Not just Saturday night; loser's season is over, despite a calendar showing three additional remaining regular-season contests.
Tennessee wants its return to the CFP and perhaps even a chance to host a Round of 12 game in December after being forced on the road to eventual CFP title-winner Ohio State in 2024.
The Sooners? They're seeking to return to college football's ultimate dance for the first time since Lincoln Riley jettisoned that program for Hollywood in December 2021.
Subplots? We got those, too. It's Josh Heupel vs. alma mater, but it's also Heupel's senior offensive analyst and former North Texas head man Seth Littrell against his alma mater. He played running back for the Sooners in a career timeline that almost exactly mirrors Heupel.
Moreover, Oklahoma head man Brent Venables needs not to see his team further fade. The Sooners have dropped two of their last three and still have the Vols, top-five Alabama, ranked Missouri and LSU to close out their season.
Elsewhere, Cincinnati travels to Utah in the Big 12 Conference's top game of the week. Scott Satterfield is doing his best job since his elite days at Appalachian State, and the Bearcats haven't lost since their opening in late-August in Kansas City.
Can they perpetuate their magical ride? Does Utah showcase more of the overwhelming physical violence that suffocated Colorado last week?
And what of the annual Florida-Georgia bash in Jacksonville, Florida, where both teams have had two weeks to prepare but for which the Gators are being led by an interim coach, Billy Gonzales? Florida doesn't have much for which to play this season, but ruining things for Georgia?
The Gators always embrace that opportunity.
