Winston-Salem State: Winston-Salem State University is now accepting applications for the position of Fall Strength and Conditioning intern. This is an UNPAID and VOLUNTEER position. You will have the opportunity to assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, teaching student athletes’ proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, participation in weekly projects, and professional development throughout the internship program. Intern qualifications include: punctuality; enthusiasm; strong work ethic; and strong communication skills Preferred qualifications include: senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS certification; CPR certification. Interns will receive experience working for a highly competitive Division II University, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Dixie State: Dixie State University is seeking qualified interns for the 2015-2016 fall semester. This is a non-paid position. Interns will have the opportunity to gain college credit towards graduation, if applicable, as well as valuable professional experience in the field of strength & conditioning. Duties include: assist Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in designing and implementing programs all 13 Varsity sports including strength, speed, agility, flexibility, nutrition, and conditioning; teach proper technique and safety; assist in set up and break down of equipment, day to day monitoring, cleaning, and maintenance of the weight room and equipment; proper communication with athletes, coaches, and athletic trainers; implement and enforce rules, policies, and procedures of the weight room; serve as a positive role model to all DSU athletes; and any other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Qualifications: Applicants must be highly motivated, with a tremendous work ethic, give a full semester commitment, and have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Communication and organizational skills are a must. Interns must have proof of health insurance. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning program and with the Olympic lifts is preferred. Completed or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field is preferred. Completed or working towards CSCS, SCCC, or USAW Certification is preferred. Limestone College (D-II): Limestone College invites applications for the full-time, 12-month position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Job Overview- Under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance, the candidate will assist with design, develop and delivery of comprehensive strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for all assigned Intercollegiate Athletic teams with an emphasis in wrestling and nutrition. Establish annual testing and performance measures. Teach proper execution, techniques and safety for all lifts and movement drills. A Bachelor degree is required from an accredited four year institution in Sports Sciences or related field. Certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association or other nationally accepted strength and conditioning certifying organization. Experience in the field of strength and conditioning at the collegiate level as well as knowledge of athletic injury prevention and treatment/modification protocols is preferred. This candidate must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of Limestone College, Conference Carolinas and the NCAA.
